Talk to your tools. Talk to people. One app.

Dictation in any app and notes from every meeting. On your Mac — audio is processed on the device.

Listening. Scroll, and the moments it kept will follow you.

Dalm is a Mac app that does two things usually sold separately: dictation into any text field by a global hotkey, and automatic notes from every conversation, with no bot to admit to the call. Audio is transcribed on your Mac and deleted the moment the text appears; the text itself is synced to our servers, where documents and answers about a meeting are assembled. Everything you say lands in one archive you can search: meetings, phone calls, conversations in the room, and what you dictate to a model. Every quote shows you where it was said — open it and the transcript opens at that place. Free plan; Pro is $16 per month, or $12 per month billed annually.

Paid plans are not open yet. These are the prices we plan to launch with.

Sound familiar?

You got the transcript. You still write the document yourself. The summary and the action items are assembled from the conversation, to the template you set.

Half your conversations never get recorded at all. A phone call on speaker and a meeting in the room are recorded the same way a video call is.

You recorded all of it. And you’re explaining it again. Search goes across everything you have said, and the answer comes back with the place it came from.

Not a generic summary. A review made for your kind of meeting.

Watch one meeting go from talk to a finished review. Dalm suggests the meeting type — or lets you pick.

What Dalm promises

Built on research into 181 kinds of meetings. 70 review formats — each for its kind of meeting.

Ask, and Dalm fetches it.
Answers show the moments they came from. The number takes you to that place in the transcript.
Asking Dalm about a staged meeting. The answer was written by Dalm and not sped up.
If it wasn't said, Dalm won't make it up.
Fields nobody mentioned stay empty and are marked to fill in by hand.

The words, the name, the minute.

What did we agree? Find the minute it was said.

Search runs across transcripts, titles and documents — everything you have said, dictations included, not only meetings. Ask a question about a meeting, and when the answer quotes the transcript, the quote carries the place it came from: open it and the transcript opens there. Asking one question across all your records at once is in development.

Search covers the archive on this Mac: your own meetings and dictations, and meetings colleagues in your organization invited you into. Meetings you see only in a team list, and meetings shared with you from another organization, are not part of it.

How it works

  1. Press the hotkey and talk. The text lands in whatever field the cursor is in.
  2. Start a conversation — a video call, a phone call on speaker, or a meeting in the room. Recording runs without joining anything.
  3. When it ends, the notes, the summary and the action items are waiting.

What it does

Dictate into any app. Record any conversation. Keep every thought.

  • Video calls recorded without a bot in the meeting.
  • Phone calls on speaker and meetings in the room, recorded the same way.
  • Dictation into any text field by a global hotkey.
  • Summaries and action items from a template that runs after processing.
  • Search across everything you have said, dictations included.
  • Every quote opens the transcript at the place it came from.
  • Export to the clipboard and to Markdown, with nothing inserted into the text.
  • A free plan, and an indicator that shows when recording is on.

  1. Video call, Dalm: the transcript is kept. The video recording is not.
  2. Talking to an AI model, Dalm: dictating the prompt before you send it. What you said is kept in the archive.
  3. Phone call, AI notetakers: some record a call that the computer takes over from the phone; the rest work through a mobile app, a separate device, or by importing a recording.
  4. Some and Partly: part of the class does this and part does not. It does not hold for the whole class.
  5. Not found: the capability is not claimed in the makers’ documentation. That is not a statement that it is absent.
  6. One archive, Dalm: meetings and dictations alike, in one place you can search.
  7. A quote, Dalm: opening it takes you to that place in the transcript, not to audio. The audio is deleted once the text exists, so there is nothing to play — what you get is the sentence in its context.

Who it’s for

Pricing

Beta testers get 2 months of Dalm Pro free when paid plans open.

Free plan. Pro is $16 per month, or $12 per month billed annually.

  • No plan puts a limit on recording minutes, on the length of a recording, or on how long anything is kept.
  • Every numeric limit is published with a date and a version.
  • Once you subscribe, your price and limits won’t get worse for as long as your subscription keeps renewing. Details in our Terms.

All three are set out in the fair limits policy, with every number dated.

What we do with your data

  • Audio is transcribed on this Mac and deleted the moment the text appears.
  • Recognition works without a network. Documents and questions about a meeting are assembled by our server.
  • Voice prints stay on your device.

What goes to the server: transcripts, notes, documents, tags, your dictionary and your presets.

Help shape Dalm. Join the beta.

We're inviting 40 people to use Dalm on their Mac before launch and tell us what works and what doesn't. Real meetings, real dictation, real feedback.

What you get
Dalm before everyone else, a direct line to the people building it, and 2 months of Dalm Pro free when paid plans open.
What we ask
Use it in your real work for a month. A short survey once a week. One 20-minute call to tell us what you think.
When it starts
As soon as all 40 places are filled. We'll write to you when we send the invite.
What you need
A Mac with Apple Silicon, macOS 15.0 or newer.
Your data
Your audio — recorded or imported — is transcribed on your Mac and never sent to our servers. It's deleted once the text is ready; if processing fails, it stays on your Mac. Files you import are never changed. Your text is synced to our servers and stored in the EU. To create summaries, the text needed for the request is sent to a third-party AI model provider, which may process it outside the EU.

Questions

How does the beta work?
We are inviting 40 people to use Dalm on their Mac before launch and to tell us what works and what does not. Testers get Dalm before everyone else, a direct line to the people building it, and 2 months of Dalm Pro free when paid plans open. In return, use it in your real work for a month, answer a short survey once a week and join one 20-minute call. It starts when all 40 places are filled, and we will write to you when we send the invite. You need a Mac with Apple Silicon and macOS 15.0 or newer.
What is Dalm?
Dalm is a Mac app that does two things usually sold separately: dictation into any text field by a global hotkey, and automatic notes from every conversation — video calls without a meeting bot, phone calls on speaker, and in-person meetings. Everything you say lands in one archive you can search: meetings, phone calls, conversations in the room, and what you dictate to a model. Every quote shows you where it was said — open it and the transcript opens at that place.
Does Dalm join my meeting as a bot?
No. There is no participant to admit and nothing shows up in the attendee list. Dalm works from the audio your Mac already plays and hears, so a video call is captured the same way a phone call on speaker or a meeting in the room is captured. Nobody has to let software into the call, and the other side sees no third party.
Where is my audio processed and where is my data stored?
Audio is transcribed on this Mac and deleted the moment the text appears. Voice prints stay on your device: the sync has no such field and the server has no such column. The text is a different matter: transcripts, notes, documents, tags, your dictionary and your presets are synced to our servers, and when a document or an answer about a meeting is assembled, that text goes to a language model.
Does Dalm work without a network?
Recognition does. Dictation and transcription keep running on this Mac with the network off, and search goes against the archive stored on the machine. Two things need the connection and neither is optional: signing in, without which the app does not open at all, and the automatic sync of the text to our servers, which has no off switch. Documents and answers about a meeting are assembled on the server as well, so those wait until you are back online.
How much does Dalm cost and what is free?
There is a free plan. Pro is $16 per month, or $12 per month billed annually. No plan puts a limit on recording minutes, on the length of a recording, or on how long anything is kept. Every numeric limit is published with a date and a version. Once you subscribe, your price and limits won't get worse for as long as your subscription keeps renewing.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac with Apple Silicon, running macOS 15.0 or newer. On first launch the app downloads a speech model before it can transcribe anything, so the first run takes longer than every run after it, and the same happens once more when the first conversation is processed. Exact sizes are named in the onboarding, before anything starts downloading, and on the download page.

Be present. Dalm keeps the record.
